Vapogenix Inc. was founded in 2006 by Dr. Allen Burton, Dr. Phillip Phan and Ms. Danguole Altman to develop novel formulations of currently used medications for better treatment of pain. The company began operations in November 2007 after licensing intellectual property rights to its core technology from the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. The company has completed a Series A funding and anticipates raising additional funds as it enters clinical development with its lead compound. Vapogenix is based in Houston, Texas, and is conveniently located near the Texas Medical Center and the laboratories of its scientific founders and collaborators.
